We are selecting persons to serve a three-year term as deacons (servant ministers) in our church.
The five persons below have been interviewed by our Deacon Nominating Committee and determined to meet the biblical qualifications of the role. Each has also agreed to serve if approved by the congregation. A copy of their bios can be viewed here.

The role and responsibilities of our deacons are:
- To guard the unity of the church.
- To provide advice and counsel to the pastor in matters on the spiritual welfare of the church.
- To know and provide the physical, moral, and spiritual needs of the church membership and organize and administer their service to relieve, encourage, and assist persons with such needs.
Biblical Qualities for our Deacons
“of honest report” - has a good reputation, respected.
“full of the Holy Spirit” - displays the fruit of the Holy Spirit (see Galatians 5:22-23)
“wisdom” - has Godly common sense
“appoint over this business” - responsible, trustworthy with responsibilities and authority
l Timothy 3: 8-12
“grave” - sincere, not foolish acting
“not double-tongued” - truthful, not hypocritical
“not given to much wine” - not a substance abuser
“not greedy for filthy lucre” - does not pursue dishonest gain
“holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience” - believes the revealed truth of the gospel, clear and settled conscience
“proven” - tested maturity (l Timothy 5:22a)
“blameless” - good reputation, a good testimony
“husband of one wife” - monogamous, not polygamous
“ruling their children/own house as well” - manages and cares for their own family and homes in a Christ-like manner
