Students Serve with Challenger Baseball

On May 4, 2024, students have an exciting opportunity to serve the community and serve our own body. Challenger Baseball is run by a couple of faithful Glade members. The Mount Juliet Challenger Baseball League exists to provide opportunities for intellectually and physically challenged individuals to participate in the game of baseball in a recreational, non-competitive setting.

Students will have the opportunity to serve younger children at 10am by being a buddy and helping them play the game. No baseball skills are required.  Students will just be assisting the player with things like showing them which direction to run, where to stand, etc.  Students will be on the field with plenty of adults around if they have any questions. Then, at 11 am, students are invited to play ball with other teens, or if they would rather, sit in the stands and cheer on their peers.  This is going to be an exciting time.

Also, it is May 4th, which is a day that may people celebrate the Star Wars franchise.  Player and volunteers are encourgaed to wear a Star Wars shirt, dress up in a costume, or anything else that is festive for Star Wars day.
